Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams, a famous black-and-white photographer. He was born in San Fransisco on Feb.20,1902. He was an only child (as his mom gave birth to him when she was 40). He passed away on Apr.22, 1984.
His life must have been hectic for him. Especially when his dad had a big fortune then they lost it all in the financial crisis of 1907. As a boy he had extreme shyness so was unable to fit in school. On the biography it states that he may have had dyslexia. Not very successful in various schools, his aunt and dad tutored him, until he got put into a private school to finish up his education and earning diploma (that is equivalent to graduating the eighth grade).
Ansel did not just take up photography instantly. One of his hobbies were playing the piano and writing music. All of that he taught himself. Music was his intended profession but he dropped it to go into photography.
1927, was Ansel's first successful photo of the Face of Half Dome. He took many more familiar photos but the Face of Half Dome was his most famous one.
I learned that he was very outgoing, he loves to go out in the nature especially. Once he joined the Sierra Club in 1919 he became more self-confident. Then in Yosemite, he met Virginia Best and they got married in 1928 having two children. Since he loved being around nature he sometimes stayed out for a long time that he got sick with bed-rest.
Black and white photos are alright they don't capture my attention as much as color though, but this photo is different. I am interested in photos that involve water, but this photo makes the water pop more. Especially the mist at the bottom that's what I really like best. The mist really shows how white it is compared to the gray mixed with black logs.
